Communication Consulting Austin Local Facts

Austin, Texas, is the state capital and also the second-largest state capital in the United States. If you are in the process of relocating, for instance, because you have just secured a position in communication consulting Austin, now is the time to read up and explore the various areas where you might want to live. One means of identifying the various residential areas is by their position with respect to the Colorado River, which runs through the heart of town.



The residential areas surrounding Zilker Metropolitan Park are convenient for Highway 1 and for the Colorado River. The 350-acre park bears the name of the man who signed over the title to the land in 1917, Andrew Jackson Zilker. Among the attractions in the park are the Zilker polo field, Umlauf Sculpture Garden and a nature center.



Just beside Lady Bird Lake is Auditorium Shores another popular public park. Every year, it holds an annual festival called South by Southwest (SXSW), a ten-day conference incorporating film and music festivals. Auditorium Shores is a haven for dog lovers, with a nearby park where peoples' companions can run free while their owners enjoy a drink and a spectacular view of the Austin skyline.



Apartments in Auditorium Shores connect with Highway 1 via Barton Springs Road. This area is handy for crossing the river into northeast Austin with bridges on Lamar Boulevard, First Street and Congress Avenue. The Lady Bird Lake Trail offers a footbridge for pedestrians.



Homes are nice in the northwest quadrant formed by the intersection of Interregional Highway 290 (I-35) and the Colorado River. The neighborhood is home to a middle school and the Capitol Building of the State of Texas. West of State Highway 183 and south of the river like Montopolis Park, Pleasant Valley and the Riverside Golf course.



Near to the MoPac Expressway and the north/south section of the river is Tarrytown. Homes here are less closely packed than they are nearer the city center. Local amenities include Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve as well as an elementary school. The expressway is a contraction of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, one of the first railway companies in the United States.



If you can tolerate a 30-mile drive to and from work, you might find the lower population density of Georgetown more to you liking. Nicknamed the "Red poppy capital of Texas, " Georgetown is about 30 minutes' drive up I-35. Here, there are 1,200 residents per square mile, compared to 2,800 in Austin, less than half. On the silver screen, Georgetown has featured in films like "Where the Heart Is, " "Varsity Blues, " and the 1996 film starring John Travolta, "Michael."



With a median age of local residents being 30, the capital of Texas is a vibrant place for someone in communication consulting Austin to live. Close to the city center are good transport links and the beauty of the Colorado River. Not far away, the suburbs offer a more quiet way of life.
